Recreation Programs

Projected Budget Development

A key yet often overlooked aspect of opening new community facilities is the budget process. Successful implementation involves multiple budgets before opening. Our team guides clients through this preopening budget process, answering operational questions and developing a clear vision for future operations.

Rates & Fees Report

Many clients are unsure about what rates and fees to charge for their new facilities. Recreation Excellence conducts market research on similar facilities and community sizes, using development reports to suggest potential rates and fees based on industry and local data. Setting these rates is essential for developing the facility’s overall budget.

Budgets

Before opening a facility, extensive work is needed, including developing startup budgets for design, FF&E, rates, safety, staffing, and commissioning. Recreation Excellence guides clients through these steps. We assist in planning soft and grand opening budgets to maximize impact and help create projected operating budgets for years 1-5, covering ongoing operations, warranties, and maintenance.

Projected Capital Replacement Budgets

In years 2 and 3, we will assist clients in developing detailed Capital Replacement Budgets. These budgets will feature valuable details, including Estimated Equipment Life Cycles and Costings, to make the planning process clearer and easier to manage.

Asset Management

Our Maintenance Connection program helps our team maintain a detailed inventory of all key facility components. We work together to set clear preventive maintenance procedures and schedules for each part. Some tasks we can handle ourselves, while others are best managed by specialized contractors in areas like electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling. We ensure all tasks are carefully tracked, invoices are scanned and linked to the equipment, and we establish life cycle costs to support future planning for replacements.

Special Events

Recreation Excellence is experienced in collaborating with local, regional, provincial, and national organizations. We’re excited to host special events, in whether with our own dedicated staff or by partnership with other organizations, to bring more fun and activity to our facility.

Marketing

Our marketing team will evaluate the community to determine the best way to promote your facilities, including print, social media, videos, and mascot use, to share opportunities with the community, region, and beyond.

Customer Service Training

Tom Watson is a Master Customer Service Trainer passionate about serving communities as a difference maker. He has certifications from the Customer Service Excellence Corporation, Disney Institute, and Red Tree. The Recreation Excellence team is proud that our service training has earned recognition at local, provincial, national, and international levels. 

Food Services

Providing food services is a central hub for people’s increased enjoyment, relaxation, and general happiness. With our winning team of concession experts, you’ll experience an increase in concession productivity through sales and improved customer service, all while reducing expenditures.
