Dance Instructor (Part-Time)

The Dance Instructor reports to the Program Manager, and will be responsible for providing exceptional dance programming to our guests, while ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all dancers and parents.
Required experience, education & certifications:
- Certifications based on style of dance
- Standard First aid with CPR-C and AED
- Previous experience teaching dance, preferably to children and teens.
- Proficiency in various dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary etc.)
- Experience with program planning
Required Knowledge and Ability:
Knowledge of:
- Dance equipment & operations
- Report writing
- Computer systems and common office software

Essential Functions:
- Plan and conduct dance classes and programs for various age groups and skill levels.
- Develop and implement engaging and age-appropriate choreography.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their technique.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during classes.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Create and participate in academy events, recitals, and performances.
- Ensure that all work performed is in accordance with safety standards set forth in Worksafe Saskatchewan occupational health & safety manual and that pursuant to regulations are adhered to including the use of personal protective equipment
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Maintain accurate knowledge of facility schedules, programs, and policies to address guest questions and concerns effectively
- Monitor and enforce facility rules and regulations to ensure guest safety and compliance
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively, escalating to the supervisor or manager as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and report generation
- Act as fire warden for all emergencies and evacuations

- Successful candidates will be required to provide a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
Wage to be determined based on experience and certifications. The successful candidates will require a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to commencing work and must maintain a clean Criminal Record to remain on staff.
